Gen. Okoloagu urges FG to complete 9th Mile- Obollo-Afor-Oturkpo Road

Major General JOJ Okoloagu (retired) has appealed to the Federal Government to fast-track the completion of 9th Mile – Obollo-Afor – Oturkpo Otukpo Road to ease vehicular movements from Southeast to the North..

Okoloagu made the call during a stakeholders’ meeting of the Enugu North Senatorial District of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He regretted that many lives have been lost on the road because of its deplorable condition.

He expressed worries that successive administrations had carried out one form of rehabilitation or the other on the road without completing it.

According to him, the ongoing rehabilitation work on the road was going on at a snail pace.

Okoloagu maintained that the failure to completely rehabilitate the road had made it difficult for people to travel to the northern part of the country.

He said that as a member of the Board of Trustees of the party and one of its founding fathers that his opinion ought to be respected.

He applauded president Bola Tinubu for appointing one of their sons, Honorable Eugene Odo as a member of the Governing Council of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

Also speaking, the APC candidate for Igbo Eze North/ Udenu Federal Constituency, Dr Oby Aji, said that the essence of the monthly zonal meeting was for them to come together and discuss the issues that would help move the zone and party forward.

Aji said that the zone had the highest APC supporters in the entire state but was being marginalised, in terms of appointive positions.

Stakeholders at the meeting included the former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Chief Eugene Odo, Zonal Chairman of the party, Chief Emma Idoko, APC Candidate for Nsukka West Constituency, Mr Peter Ugwu, the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Member Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board, Mrs Nkem Oloto amongst others.
