Abia Classic Golf and Country Club, a new Golf Club in Abia on Saturday, rewarded golfers who distingushed themselves at the Maiden Golf Super Kitty tournament in Aba.
The event, which took place inside the Aba Sports Club Golf Section on Saturday saw golfers from across the country in attendance.
from the result of the day, Former senator, Sen. Nkechi Nwaogu, a member of the Fifth National Assembly was the best net winner for the Super Veteran Ladies category.
in Veteran Ladies, Lady Ifeyinwa Udeagbala became the best net winner while, Lady Love Ndarake picked the best net winner for Ladies on 0 to 36 (0-36).
Also in men categories, Kalu Nnana Kalu emerged the best net winner for Super Veterans and Chris Mbanefo from Port Harcourt became the best net winner for Veteran Men.
For men 13 to 28, Charles Nwojo became the best net winner and best net winner for men Zero to 12 (0-12) went to Orji N. Orji
Speaking after the event, Sen. Nkechi Nwaogu described the awareness as an epoch making event which sets the motion to establishing another standard Gold course in Abia.
Nwaogu, who was a member of the House of Assembly then and represented Abia Central said the golf course will be located at the state capital, Umuahia.
“We are here doing a kitty which is like a super kitty and we are all excited in the response of our people not only from Abia but all over Nigeria.
“I have been playing golf since 2017 and I enjoyed playing golf,the game of golf is life because, it is health.
“It helps to re-invegorate health and like any other exercise it is equally lucrative and units people all over the world.
Nwaogu said that golf was not a game for the rich as people though but a game if interested and serious people like other sports and can expose you to people of higher standard.
