The Southeast Chambers of commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (SECCIMA), says it will in collaboration with the Maduka University Business School (MUBS), unveil 100 Outstanding Entrepreneurs/CEOs in the South East geopolitical zone.
The Director General of the chambers, Dr Daniel Ochi made this known In a release which was co-signed by Mr Humphrey Ngonadi, President of the chambers.
According to him, SECCIMA is one of the three regional chambers of commerce affiliated to the National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA).
"SECCIMA is also the mouthpiece of the organised private sectors and the business Community in the Southeast, Nigeria.
"As you may wish to know, SECCIMA is a coalition and the apex body of the 17 registered city Chambers of Commerce and Industry across the five states of South East, namely: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states, " Ochi said.
The DG added that, part of the objectives of SECCIMA was to promote and protect the interest of the business community; encourage and stimulate investment in Southeast; as well as support the growth of SMEs and carry out business advocacy on the ease of doing business in the South -East in particular and Nigeria in general.
He said: "It is the largest Organised Private Sector (OPS) platform and a forum for interaction, brainstorming and exchange of ideas, business and investment opportunities among entrepreneurs and business community within and outside the region.
"As part of her official mandates, SECCIMA has concluded plans to publish and launch the first edition of a compendium of 100 MOST OUTSTANDING ENTREPRENEURS/ CEOs FROM SOUTHEAST.
The unveiling of the publication has been planned to hold on April 4, 2025. "
Ochi highlighted some of the objectives of the publication as follows: to serves as a compendium, profile of 100 nominated NDIGBO whose entrepreneurial activities, business ideas, inventions and innovations have made high impact in economic development, employment generation and poverty reduction in southeast in particular and Nigeria in general.
"Also to celebrate, honor and recognise such men and women of Igbo extraction so as to encourage them and others to do more in the economic, social and commercial development of Igbo land.
"The publication will also be a resource document for many especially researchers, investors, budding entrepreneurs and youths who are aspiring to be successful entrepreneurs in the future.
"The Compendium will be available in soft copy at www.seccimahub.org.ng and in hard copies at public and private library, Universities and private bookshops, VIP wing of all the local and international Airports in Nigeria, " he added.
He said that the world was moving towards the 4th Industrial Revolution, which according to the experts, there are only 3 strategic resources needed to grow the economy, create wealth and employment generation for everyone.
"These resources includes, a team of educated people with marketable skills.
"Their innovative and scalable business ideas and their Entrepreneurial Spirit.
"Over the years, the resilience entrepreneurial spirit of NDIGBO has been overwhelming, " he said.
Ochi stated that "the biography of great men is the history of the world. "
The statement further reads: "SECCIMA and MUBS invite Ndigbo both at home and in the diaspora to grace this epoch making event, which will be chaired by Pharm, Ifeanyi Okoye, PhD, Mni- Chairman Jehuel Pharmaceutical Ltd.
Other dignitaries expected at the occasion includes: Dr Ugochukwu Chime, Fnis, (Chief Presenter/ Unveiler), Chief Ideh John Udeagbala (Guest of Honour), Chairman J Udeagbala holdings/ group of companies
