2025 Armed Forces Remembrance day: Speaker Udeze extols Ex-servicemen

The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, has called on the federal government to show  greater attention to the needs of the servicemen, ex servicemen and their  families for their commitments in the nation’s security build up.

Udeze said that more intentional care should be given to the Nation’s fallen heroes in appreciation of their contributions to the peace and development of the country by ensuring adequate care provisions to their families.

The Speaker’s call was contained in his Goodwill Message to mark year 2025  Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration,made avaliable to journalists on Wednesday in Awka through Mr Emma Madu,Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker,

Rt.Hon.Udeze urged  serving security personnel in the state to emulate the team spirit and selfless service exhibited by the fallen heroes and called for intensive efforts towards provision of adequate security for the masses.

The Speaker said that security of lives and property of the people is a collective responsibility, he  appealed to well meaning citizens as well as other stakeholders to  celebrate the patriotic zeal, gallantry and bravery of officers of the Nigerian Armed Forces whose blood earned the country freedom, government at different levels.

He said that  efforts should be made to fortify the security architecture of the country to enable the serving security personnel surpass the achievements of the ex-servicemen.

Rt.Hon.Udeze enjoined affluent Nigerians to commit part of their God-given resources for the upkeep of the families of the fallen heroes and ex-servicemen as well as  security of lives and property of the people.
