Mbah inaugurates multi billion naira Oranto hotel in Enugu

 

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State on Friday, inaugurated a multi -billion naira hotel , Oranto International Airport Hotel in Enugu.

The hotel was built by a frontline businessman, Chief  Arthur Eze, to promote  tourism in the Enugu State and South East region.

Tbe hotel is situated beside Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.

Inaugurating the hotel, Mbah said the hotel was in line with his administration’s commitment to make Enugu State premier destination for investment, business, living and tourism.

He said: “I am very delighted to have the honour to perform the inauguration of this magnificent hotel.To me, it is beyond the symbolism of cutting ribbon.

“We have talked of operationalising Enugu international airport and in few days time, we are going to launch Enugu Air and it  is not just about procurement of aircraft and plying Lagos -Enugu.

“For us, we want to make this airport a travel hub and the  airport cannot be a hub without international hotel by it ,which means that people coming can lay over here to catch their flight.

“This edifice is an enabler and it  fits into our dream of making this airport not only operationalising the international way but also making it a hub for travel.”

He added that, “We talked of having three million visitors yearly in Enugu and this hotel connects well with that.

“So I want to pay a special homage to my senior brother, friend and mentor, Prince Arthur Eze, a seasoned entrepreneur, a major employer of labour ,a patron and a visionary.

“He is a  man with a strong belief in the economic renaissance of Enugu State. I salute you and pay homage on behalf of people of Enugu State.

“We still look forward to more of your presence here in Enugu State and we will continue to support you”.

Speaking, Eze commended  Mbah for accepting to inaugurate the hotel, saying  that he went through series of challenges to have the edifice standing.

“I want to thank Mbah for his encouragement and for  ensuring the completion the hotel”,he said.

He also lauded the governor for his efforts to resuscitate all moribund facilities in Enugu as well as giving the state a face lift.

Earlier, the Managing Director of the hotel, Rashmi Raman, said the hotel has
95 rooms, two conference halls that van host 470 people  and a board room that can  accommodate 10 people.
