The Managing director of Enugu State Rural Electrification Board Engr Christopher Nnamani Ezeoha have been honoured by an Enugu based Media Group Media Network Associates with a distinguished Merit Award 2024.
In a Citation which was read by the Chairman of the Media Group Comrade Norbert Okolo noted that Engr Christopher has by a dint of hard work from his days in NEPA to EEDC and now to ENREB become an authority in Energy Industry. Stating the examplary leadership he has brought to bear within the first year in office like the reduction of disel consumption for the powering of plants that power Street lights in Enugu urban,the provision and production of transformers for the communities amongst so many achievements.
In his reaction to the Award, Engr Christopher said that the honour Should actually go to the Executive Governor of Enugu State His Excellency Dr Peter Mbah who gave us the Mandate that was very crisp that Enreb Should Provide a twenty four hour power Supply to Ndi Enugu uninterrupted.
From where we are now he said it looks impossible but it’s Very Possible as Enreb is working towards it Systemically by getting connected to International Agencies, European Union,World bank and donor agencies to make the dream a reality and very soon the evidence of these connections will start showing.
Already Enreb is Partnering with REA on renewable energy and also soon will be Partnering with the European union, world bank,ADB and some other international agencies to make sure that unserved Communites of Enugu State will have renewable energy projects that will produce twenty four hours of electricity.
Enreb will also Partner with UNIDO to produce hydro electricity as Enugu State today have high deposit of natural gas in Ugwuoba.The State he further stated is Prepared and Poised to move electricity business from where it is today to an enjoyable height.
Main Power is coming on board to Partner with Enreb as the State is prepared to fund the provision of transformers to such areas as Ugbawka,Mburumbu,Nara,Nomeh,Nkerefi who have not had electricity for the past ten years but will soon as a result of the state intervention as the fund will be recovered from Main Power.
His Excellency has also given an instruction that all streets in Enugu should be installed with Solar Power lights.Engr Christopher went on to state that in a bid by his Excellency to Secure Ndi Enugu all hands are on deck to light up the state as all major atrocities are conducted under the cover of darkness and for those tasked with carrying the great vision of his Excellencys transformation agenda we at Enreb is working hard towards giving the best to Ndi Enugu.
