Anambra speaker urges Muslims faithful to sustain religious tolerance

The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr Somtochukwu Udeze, has called on Nigerians to embrace love, unity and peaceful coexistence irrespective of their religious inclinations.

Udeze made the call in his message Felicitating Muslim faithful as they celebrate year 2024 Eid-El-Maulud,.

Mr Emma Madu ,Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker said in a statement he made avaliable to journalists in Awka Monday.

Udeze enjoined Muslim leaders to always uphold those values and practices that will create harmony, growth and development of the country.

The Speaker commended Anambra Governor, Prof Charles Soludo for providing an enabling environment for the Muslim community in the State to propagate their faith.

He said that Soludo aalso create a peaceful business environment for the muslims to earn their living without fear of attack.

Udeze charged the muslim faithful to join hands with the governor to promote peace and security as well as generate maximum support for the Soludo administration.

He noted that since both Islam and Christianity condemn violence, Muslims should use this occasion of the feast of Eid-El-Maulud to preach against violence, vices, bad governance, nepotism and religious bigotry among other divisible and negative threats.

Udeze wish Muslims in the state a joyous Eid-El-Maulud celebration, urged them to make the overall development of Nigeria and happiness of the masses their utmost priority.End
