Mr Don Onyenji, Anambra Commissioner for Culture Entertainment and Tourism has commended the rate at which Entrepreneurs are partnering with Anambra Government in tourism industry.
Onyenji called on more Anambra Citizens across the globe to join the returning team to key into the “Think Home Philosophy” of Anambra Government to open up the state to the world.
He made the call on Tuesday during the ground breaking of the Soulcity Obosi “Tourism Town ” in Obosi Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra.
The Commissioner said that Anambra Governor Prof Charles Soludo have created a friendly business environment to attract both local and international investors in the state.
Onyenji said that Anambra State Government in Collaboration with Soulcity Intergrated Resource LTD has proved willingness to welcome all genuine investors.
The Commissioner was represented by Mr Jerome Iloka,Permanent Secretary,Ministry of culture Entertainment and Tourism.
Iloka said that Anambra goverment has an open hand to welcome industrialist to help create wealth for youths and increase the internally generated revenue for state development.
Chief Nnamdi Nwokoye,Chief Executive Director Soulcity Intergrated Resource LTD said that the Tourism centre when completed will create over 50 thousand jobs.
Nwokoye said that the project is a Smart city which entails whole lots of unit that will project the state in world map.
He appealed to the government to provide security in the facility to forestall vandals activities as such will deter investors from partnering with government.
Nwokoye said that about 50 employable youths will be directly engaged thereby taking youths off the streets.
Mr Suleiman Nicholas, Area Manager,National Inland Waterways Authority, Onitsha Area office commended the government for providing enabling environment for business to thrive.
Nicholas said that the Authority is up and doing to ensure that the waterways are healthy to encourage and promote businesses.
He said that the authority have accorded the management of Soulcity Intergrated Resource LTD necessary all approval required to operate thr smartcity for the pleasure of the citizens.
Octogenarian,Chris Ezeolu expressed happiness over the Soulcity Obosi Tourism,smart city projects which is hoped to create jobs for unemployed.
Newsmen reports that the events attracts government officials including Mrs Nneka Nwankwo, Director Diaspora Affairs/Entertainment, Ifeinynwa Ogwo,Public Relations Officer of the ministry amongst others.
Newsmen reports also that the community people expressed delight over the projects as it is believed it will open up the community more.
