Dr Onyekachi Ibezim, Anambra Deputy Governor, has tasked Inspector. Godfrey Uniumu, his escort commander not to relent in discharging his duty professionally.
Ibezim made the call while decorating Uniumu with his new rank as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) marking a significant milestone in his career in Awka.
He congratulated ASP Uniumu on his well-deserved promotion, and acknowledged his dedication, hard work and encouraged him to continue serving with distinction.
Ibezim advised him never to relent in upholding the highest standards of the Nigeria Police Force.
The Deputy Governor said that the promotion of Umiumu to his new rank was a well deserving position because he operates within the lines of his profession.
He described Uniumu as a fine police officer who was on top of his official responsibility and conducts himself in a dignified manner.
” i urged you not to take a rest by feeling comfortable with your newest rank but understand that reward for good job is more work.
” I congratulate you again on your position as ASP and expect that you add more colors to your position with humility and more dedication to your service with police force.
” I wish to remind you that as an ambassador of Nigerian police force you owe the command duties of upholding tents of the Job and aim at higher rank with dignity.
Responding, Uniumu expressed gratitude to God, and assured Nigerian police force for more dedication to his duties and promotion of police force image.
He appreciates the support of his colleagues who had provided conducive work environment and team work to promote the image of the police force.
Uniumu extended his gratitude to his wife, who has given him emotional stability to perform optimally in his work.
He promised to continue serving with loyalty and commitment as required by the police force.
The ceremony was Witnessed by Anambra Commissioner for information, Mr Paul Nwosu.
Nwosu described the promotion and decoration ceremony as a moment of joy and celebration for ASP Uniumu, his family, and fellow colleagues in the security force.
He said that the officer has shown good humour while discharging his duties and encouraged him to distinguished himself in course of his duties always.
ASP Umiumu’s wife was also there to witness the decoration and expressed her gratitude on behalf of her family to Nigerian police force.
