Oji River concerned citizens seek implementation of development centers

A group known as Oji River Concerned Citizens (ORCC) in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State has called for the Implementation of the four Development Centres in the area.
The group also wants the development centers which were  gazzetted since 2017 to be fully implemented in the current political dispensation.
The concerned citizens made the call at  a well-attended meeting in Oji River.
Speaking to newsmen the Convener of the group Rt Hon Ugochukwu Omere, Nze Theo Onyebueke, Chairman contact and mobilization, Ozo Ejike Tasie the Coordinator of the twenty nine (29) autonomous communities President Generals, Ozo Nnabuike, National President Ohaneze youths said the law should be implemented without delay.
Nze Theo said that equity will prevail in the sharing of elective positions since the current law had repealed the former laws.
He thanked the Governor His Excellency Dr Peter Mbah for insisting that zoning must be respected.
 Ejike Tasie noted that all president generals from Oji River local government in conjunction with the Traditional rulers had met the former Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and he encouraged them to go ahead and implement the laws.
The four Zones in Oji River LGA include Oji River Central Zone A (Achi Uno) Mmam Zone B(Inyi,Awlaw,Akpugoeze)Ojiriver. South Zone C(Ugwuoba, Agbalenyi,Okwe) Zone D (Achi Agu,Utazi Ugwa,Uzondu).
“Having been Gazetted the Concerned Citizens are demanding that the Gazette be a Working document starting with the October local government election in Enugu State, ” the convener said.
He further thanked Oji River traditional  rulers under the chairmanship of HRM Igwe Chima felix Achiekwelu for ensuring that an MoU was signed.
He  explained further that when they saw that unless this law is implemented, some communities may never have the opportunity to have any elective positions hence this call for the implementation ahead of the coming local government election in Enugu State coming up this October he concluded.
