Alleged suspension: Agballah remains party chairman in Enugu- APC insists

A faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Enugu State has debunked the purported suspension of Ugochukwu Agballah as the Chairman of APC in Enugu, says Agballah remained the party chairman in the state.
The party described the purported suspension of Agballah and other executives in the state as false, illegal, unconstitutional and handiwork of mischief makers.
Chief Augustine Alumonah, the Deputy Enugu State Chairman of APC, stated this after the State Executive Officers, Local Government, Ward and stakeholders meeting at the party Secretariat, Enugu.
The party leaders in the meeting include Dr Walter Madu, State Assistant Secretary, George Tagbo Ogara, Sen. Chukwuka Utazi, Princess Ada Ogbu, Prof Nick Eze, Amb Akuabata Njeze, Comrade Fidelis Ede and Dr Tony Nebo.
It would recalled  that the State’s Publicity Secretary, Chief Michael Ezeanyanwu, had on July 27 announced the suspension of Agballah, Alumonah and others from the party for alleged abuse of office and anti party activities.
Alumonah said those behind the purported suspension were a collective of expelled party members who were now working with external forces to destabilize the party in the state.
According to him, the party dismissed the news of the purported suspension as false, mischievous and lacking legal basis and mere nonsensical propaganda with sole aim of bringing the party and its officials to disrepute and public odium.
He noted that those who announced the suspension had no understanding of the Constitution of APC which provided that only a higher level of the party of National Executive or Zone can remove a member of State Executive.
“The suspension was made with utter disregard to the Constitution of the party as there was no such meeting of the State Executive of the party convened and held in accordance with the Constitution of the party.
“Agballah is and remains the Enugu State Chairman of APC same with the Deputy State Chairman, Chief Augustine Alumonah, the State Organizing Secretary, Emeka Eze and the State Treasurer, Jude Aniogbo,” he said.
He disclosed that enemies of the party were sponsoring discord in the party in order to keep it weak and divided and unable to mount serious opposition against the rulling party in Enugu.
“The party enjoins the teeming party faithful and general public to disregard the sponsored suspension and be rest assured that the rescue mission and rebuilding of APC in Enugu state.
“The emergence of the current Chairman, Agballah and the State Party Leader, the Minister of Innovation Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji, is unstoppable until the party takes therein of leadership of government in Enugu State,” he added.
