Dr Oge Ebo, a Dental Therapist, at Nri General Hospital, Anaocha Local Government Area, of Anambra State has advised the public on intake of calcium for a healthy tooth.
She gave the advice while delivering a “Health Talk” entitled “care of the teeth” during a Parish Women’s Conference at St Mary’s Anglican Church, Nri at the weekend.
Ebo said that calcium intake was very important in building healthy tooth and advised the women to ensure their families take calcium adequately to maintain healthy tooth.
Ebo urged the public to always use toothpaste that contains fluoride because it contains a protective substance that is safer for the tooth.
She said that the best practice in care of the tooth is to brush twice a day and advise the practice of gaggle after food as it takes away particles aiding tooth decay.
The dentist advised that hard toothbrush is not too good for the teeth rather the use of medium toothbrush for adults and soft toothbrush for children is preferred.
She advised the public to place the toothbrush well to drain after brushing and to clean their tongue as well to ensure good tooth care.
She said that regular visit to dentist would help the people from suffering major tooth problems and urged public to visit dentist timely to avoid development of major tooth problems.
Mrs Victoria Nwosu, another resource person who handled the bible study with the theme ” I will not let you go,unless you bless me” Genesis 32 vs 26.
Nwosu said that Jacob made the statement because he was desperate and determined to have a change from his dubious way of living.
” Are you living a double standard life? Are you a deceit? is your life mixed with unlawful activities.
“Examine your life and have a change mind and be truthful and determined in dealing with people to promote God’s will on earth,” she said.
Nwosu advised the women to learn from Jacob’s repented life and determined to be a better personality.
Earlier the Vicar of the church, Revd Canon Ifeanyi Emegwa advised the women to allow the spirit of God to rule over their lives.
Emegwa urged the women to be spiritually alive to have healthy relationship with God which will save them from eternal death.
He said that obedience to God’s word commands lots of blessings and not the blessings like Jacob’s type.
Dr Uzoamaka Emegwa, the wife of the Vicar, in her address said that God has sustained the women in time of famine.
She said that conditions of the nation and state are alarming, especially in areas of insecurity kidnapping,banditry,economic challenges amongst others.
Emegwa urged the federal government and labour Congress to review their stand and make necessary shifts for good of the masses as the economic situation is badly affecting the masses.
