Demolitions: LP goes had on Gov. Mbah govt.
The Labour Party (LP) Enugu State chapter has described the plan by the Enugu State Government to build an ultra modern market in Nsukka as a “Damage Control” and an after thought.
The party stated this in a statement signed by the State Chairman and Publicity Secretary, Barrister Casmir Agbo and Barrister Onuorah Odo and made available to newsmen in Enugu.
The statement reads: “The social media has been agog with the trending news of the Pdp-led government’s initiative to build what they named “new Ultra Modern Market” in Nsukka area of Enugu State.
“This action of the State government is not only an afterthought but also a damage control approach.
“It goes to show that the administration of Governor Mba came ill-prepared.”
The LP argued further that”a government that is fully prepared for governance can not be engaging in trial and error.”
“They should be ready to face the business of governance squarely and not haphazardly.
“Governance is a serious business that can only be undertaken by serious-minded people, who are ready to hit the ground running, ” LP said.
The party also accused the PDP administration of imposing excessive taxations and indiscriminate levies on the already struggling citizens of Enugu State.
” Habba! you don’t march a person, who is already on the ground.
“People are already dying by installments and you are adding to their sorrow
“Similarly, the recent action by the Enugu State government to to embark upon widespread demolitions which sparked public outrage and backlash is another goof by Governor Mba-led administration.
“It has been a situation of one week, one trouble since the inception of this regime, ” the statement said.
